The Legal and Democratic Services Department provides the Council with in-house Legal Services and Administrative/Corporate Services for its Internal Departments, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Council and its elected County Councillors.

In addition, the Department provides the public with Electoral Services in respect of the registration of electors and the running of elections and also for the Registration of births, deaths and marriages.  Support is also provided for the Coroner for the area covering Denbighshire and Conwy.

The Head of Legal and Democratic Services is also the Council’s Monitoring Officer, Data Protection Officer and Proper Officer for Registration Matters (Births, Deaths and Marriages).
