Welcome to Denbighshire Social Services

We provide and arrange many different services for a wide range of people, including:

• children and families;
• disabled people;
• people with learning disabilities;
• elderly people;
• people with mental-health problems;
• people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing;
• people who have drug or alcohol problems; and
• people who are carers.

Over the next year we will concentrate on the outcomes of people who use our services.  This means that we will be looking at the difference we make to people’s lives.  We will be paying particular attention to the outcomes set out in 'Fulfilled Lives, Supported Communities' which describes a 10-year plan for social-care services across Wales.  If we meet the Directorate Vision, this will help to make sure that the people of Denbighshire:

• enjoy better health and are happier;
• are as independent as they can be;
• have financial security;
• have a say on the issues that affect their lives, and have their views taken into account;
• have the same access to services based on our assessment of their needs, and have access to good-quality, affordable housing;
• stay safe, particularly the children and adults who are most at risk;
• can make the most of their full potential and enjoy life;have an improved environment and be involved in their local community;
• can improve their skills and so create a happy and healthy workforce with the right skills to do the job; and
• can work efficiently using resources like property and technology properly.
