Corporate Personnel/Training
Personnel and Training Services in Denbighshire County Council are provided and delivered at a corporate and devolved level. The role of Corporate Personnel (central) and Training is to:-
ROLE OF CORPORATE PERSONNEL

- Determining strategic direction.
- Defining key values and standards for agreement by Management Team.
- Evolving and developing relevant and co-ordinated personnel and training policies.
- Monitoring and auditing consistent application of corporate policies.
- Briefing and training staff in the application of new policy.
- Providing creative impetus at a strategic level.
- Advising directorate Personnel Officers (DPO'S)/Officers in Directorates with responsibility for Personnel on the implementation of corporate policies and providing functional support and guidance in carrying out their role.
- Providing a mechanism for sharing positive personnel practices and experiences across the council.
- Carrying out those functions that can only sensibly be provided corporately, e.g. the corporate negotiating machinery with the unions and corporate equalities initiatives.
ROLE OF CORPORATE TRAINING

- Identifying organisational training needs (as part of the human resource planning process).
- Defining corporate standards, evaluating them and reporting to Management Team.
- Formulating and leading on Corporate Development Programmes.
- Developing new skills with staff to meet future organisational needs.
- Advising on best practice and monitoring quality of training.
- Co-ordinating Investors In People.
Providing a forum for Directorate Training Officers. - Delivering and managing corporate training courses in partnership with selected external providers where appropriate.
- Providing consultancy service.
- Co-ordinating and organising, within the Council, workplace work experience with schools, colleges and universities.
