What we do:

The team deals with the following:-

Routine inspection of the following types of premises, to provide advice and guidance and ensure compliance of health and safety legislation:-

Shops, warehouses, offices, catering services, hotels/guesthouses, residential homes, caravan sites, non council operated leisure activities, consumer services

We also deal with the investigation of complaints and reports of accidents and dangerous occurrences at work.

The responsibility for the enforcement of Health and Safety legislation is jointly shared between Local Authorities and the Health and Safety Executive. Local Authorities undertake this work at the properties listed above and the Health and Safety Executive the remainder.
