What kind of books are available?
The best choices are available locally and there is something for everybody:
- fiction to entertain and excite
- information books for interest
- books for children from babies to teenagers
- large print books and audio books on CD and tape
Is there help available to choose a good book?
Why not browse some of the book displays in your library? Numerous websites, magazines and books are available to help you choose - just ask a member of staff.
What about new books?
Bestsellers and many new books are available at each library. There is a regular changeover of stock, which means you might have to call in often.
Can't see the book you want?
You can request a book for free. It is often possible to get a copy from another library.
Are there opportunities to share the pleasure of reading?
Reading groups meet regularly in libraries for informal discussions. Community groups also borrow collections of books. Authors ocassionally visit libraries to meet readers and there are many events for children.
