The aim of the Workforce Development Team is to take lead responsibility for setting out the strategic direction for training and staff development across the local social care workforce. This aim is achieved through the Social Care Workforce Development  Partnership (SCWDP) Annual Business Plan which includes the Adult Community Care, Children & Families and Management Development training plans linked to a Five Year Strategic Social Care Workforce Development Plan.

The team is responsible for the design and delivery of the Community Care, Children & Families and Management Development training plans and for ensuring that all staff groups have the opportunity to attain the recommended national qualifications and build on their skills and knowledge through continuous professional development.

The Team's remit covers the whole of Denbighshire and has responsibility to promote, co-ordinate and develop training initiatives across the whole of the social care sector within the County; including the independent and voluntary care sector providers.

The Social Care Workforce Development Partnership provide a comprehensive training and development programme. This programme is open to external providers, or other appropriate social care organisations working within Denbighshire, who provide adult, children’s and Families services.
