Parliamentary Elections
Register no vote

Parliamentary Elections are also called General Elections in which you are able to vote for your local Member of Parliament (MP).

Your MP's split their time between work at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London and local work in your area. In Denbighshire there are 3 represented constituencies:

  • Vale of Clwyd
  • Clwyd West
  • Clwyd South

The Maximum term of office for an MP is five years, although parliamentary elections are often called in the fourth year of office. Elections take place when Her Majesty the Queen dissolves parliament and summons the election of a new parliament on the advice of her prime minister.

The next Parliamentary election must be held by May 2010.
