Ways to pay the Council

Online

You can pay Council Tax, Housing Rent, Business Rates (National Non Domestic Rates) and Parking Penalty Notices online, 24 hours a day 7 days a week using your debit or credit card. Have the account number from your bill ready.

Direct Debit

You can pay Council Tax, Housing Rent and Business Rates (National Non Domestic Rates) by Direct Debit. It is the easiest, most convenient way to pay and it’s guaranteed. Once you’ve signed a Direct Debit instruction, payments will be arranged between the Council and your Bank or Building Society. But, you are still in complete control. The arrangement will continue for as long as you like, saving you the trouble of writing out and sending off a cheque or queuing to pay your account. There is no need to remember when your next instalment is due to be paid and any changes to payment dates or amounts will be notified to you in advance.
