According to research, it's the first 60 seconds of an interview situation that are the most important.  The way you move, what you wear and your body language are all being judged.  Make that first impression count.

Don't arrive late
Make sure you are dressed appropriately
Always switch off your mobile before you go into the interview
Your handshake should be firm and friendly
Make sure that you have good eye contact with your interviewers
Smile - it will help to relax you
Make sure your posture is correct  -  don't slouch
Try to appear confident, but never arrogant
Know the requirements of the job you are being interviewed for
Never be rude about  your current or previous employees
Prepare for the interview - find out about the organisation and the department where the job is situated
Anticipate general questions that might be asked of you and prepare for them
