Q Where can I find information on the area, places to go and things to do and see?
A.The county has two Tourist Information Centres which are open all year round. These centres provide information on accommodation in the local and surrounding area. Leaflets on attractions, itineraries for day trips, booking facilities for selected Theatres and Coach Trips. Alternatively, before visiting the area the Tourist Information can send out information by post.
We also have two websites that also provide the above information, depending on which area of the county you are planning to visit. The addresses for these sites are :-
Rhyl and Prestatyn - http://www.rhyl-prestatyn.co.uk
Borderlands - http://www.borderlands.co.uk
Q When I am looking for accommodation, why are only some properties in the area listed and not all of them?
A. As there is no statutory registration scheme for accommodation at present, we have to ensure that the accommodation that we pass on to you reaches a minimum standard with regard to quality and service. To do this we follow the criteria set down by Visit Wales which states that all accommodation we pass on to the customer should be either have been graded or applied to be graded by Visit Wales, The AA or the RAC.
Q I am an Event Organiser and wish to stage my Event in the County who do I contact?
A. Denbighshire County Council has an events officer who organises some events in the Rhyl and Prestatyn area. If your event is in this area please contact sian.davies@denbighshire.gov.uk or 01824 702714 to discuss your ideas and to seek advice and guidance.
If you are planning a cultural or rural event in the county, some advice and guidance is also available from the Tourism, Culture & Countryside Service on 01824 708259 / 708242.
