Denbighshire County Council would like to keep the local community of Rhyl and its many visitors informed of progress being made on Rhyl's famous west promenade with links to the Rhyl Going Forward Strategy, the Regeneration Plan and the Foryd Harbour. The photo gallery will be updated regularly to achieve this.
Within the new west promenade development there are to be several items of artwork. This is being sourced through Stephen Broadbent Artworks Ltd, in conjunction with Rhyl History Club, to provide a discovery trail of Rhyl’s past. Within the water play area local school children have been helping by designing the “fun” shower heads which are used as water jet features.
During the day there is a mini golf attraction, an open theatre and the water play area. At night the Drift Park is illuminated so as to enjoy a leisurely evening walk. The natural garden area and children’s play ground are open all year round for both local residents and visitors.
There is now grass, plants, shrubs and trees all growing where once it was all concrete, there is even a “green” roof on top of the new public conveniences to assist with sustainability.
