CCTV

The Denbighshire County Council Town Centre CCTV scheme initially covered the Rhyl area and over the years has expanded to include coverage of Prestatyn and other nearby strategic locations, now having a total of 73 cameras which are monitored 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

The scheme consists of a set of equipment and procedures that assist in detecting criminal activity and collecting images to aid agencies towards prosecution, thereby, assisting in reducing crime and contributing towards reduction in the fear of crime.

Through working in Partnership with North Wales Police and having direct links to their control room, any detected crime can be reported immediately, increasing the probability of capture. Also, through having a link with the Town Centre Retail Radio scheme, any further crime detected can be reported to the police and monitored by the cameras for future reference.

If you witness a crime or are a victim of crime,
