Pre-School Education For 3 Year–olds in Denbighshire

Do you have a child who will be 3 years old between September and April

If yes then read on…………

Funding is now available for 3 year old children in Denbighshire to receive early years education in the term after their 3rd birthday


· Your child can have a place in an approved setting for at least 10 hours a week Monday to Friday
  An approved setting could be:
- a playgroup
- a private day nursery

· You may apply by completing a registration/ application form at the setting. You can apply for  funding at one setting only
· For children whose birthdays fall during the Autumn term funding will be given for two terms (Spring and Summer)

· For children whose birthdays fall during the Spring Term, funding will be given for 1 term (Summer)                                                                                                         

· Settings who receive funding must:- have qualified staff and be inspected by CSSIW and Estyn, provide a session, of at least 2 hours, accept the support of a qualified teacher on a regular basis
· What ever setting your child attends for this ‘early entitlement’ period, Denbighshire Nursery Education Policy applies from the September following your child’s 3rd birthday i.e. the child can only attend the school nursery class nearest your home.
