Welcome

From Director

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for visiting the website to learn more about this exciting position with Denbighshire County Council. Denbighshire has a lot to offer as a place to live and work and the Council is a dynamic, complex and challenging environment in which to work. Our gross revenue budget is around £180m with a capital budget of £30m. We employ 4500 staff and provide the full range of local government services to the people of the County.

Our vision, as outlined in the Community Strategy, is that by working together, we will achieve a more prosperous, better educated, healthier, greener, safer and more confident future for the people and communities of Denbighshire.

The Lifelong Learning Directorate performs a lead role within the Local Education Authority function for the Council and is very closely involved with the Children and Young People’s agenda. We have recently restructured in order to address this key issue along with that of School Improvement and have created this new post. The young people of the County deserve the best and so we will not compromise on the quality of the people we appoint to these roles.

This post demands an individual who is committed and not afraid of a challenge. You will be an effective leader and manager, of both people and resources but above all, you will have the influencing and motivational skills to take people with you. Partnerships at every level are vital in today’s local government context and we will be exploring candidates’ experience and success in this area. You will be ambitious for yourself and the service and in return, we will be happy to see you develop and flourish in these roles.

If you think, once you have explored the information contained in the site, that you’ve got what it takes to develop Denbighshire then we would be very pleased to hear from you.
