Efforts to promote Prestatyn as a tourist and leisure destination, as well as being a great place to live and work have gone interactive, with the setting up of a brand new website.
www.visitprestatyn.com is a one stop shop website for tourism and community information and is funded through Denbighshire’s Local Authority Business Growth Incentive (LABGI), working in partnership with Prestatyn Town Council and the Prestatyn and District Business Association.
There are key sections relating to many interests and different audiences from those seeking local information, ranging from history to the paranormal, recreation to countryside and a very useful What’s On to eating out guides.
Local Community Groups and Prestatyn pages have information relating to clubs and businesses in the town and have the added benefit of being able to expand their information and put the company logos on the site, all free of charge.
Prestatyn Town Council and Prestatyn and District Business Association has developed their own areas where people can find information, schedules of meetings, details of local town councillosr or how to become a member of the business association.
Michelle Rendell, Business Growth Officer for Prestatyn said: “Prestatyn acts as the gateway to the beautiful North Wales tourism coastal area, and is the most easterly of the North Wales coastal resorts. The town centre sites between wonderful sandy beaches and the most northerly tip of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Prestatyn is also home to the northern terminus of the 177 mile long Offa's Dyke National Trail.
“ I am delighted that initial feedback has been very positive, one browser said “I am from Prestatyn living in London and I always try to promote and advise people to visit, I found the site informative and user friendly and can now back up what I am saying about Prestatyn by showing them the website”
'This is an excellent way forward for Prestatyn to market the town and it puts Prestatyn right on the map, it is a showcase for all aspects of the local offer”.
Chair of the LABGI group, Councillor Julian Thompson Hill, said: 'This exciting new development for the town is a perfect example of the LABGI partnership in action with close working of Denbighshire County Council, Town Council and Business Association. I very much welcome this inclusive approach to the growth of Prestatyn which follows on from the exciting works being carried out at Central Beach and elsewhere in line with the action plan commissioned by this group earlier this year.'
