Modernising Education – help make a difference

The Council is committed to modernising education in the County so that children and young people have a first class education. We recognise the importance of having modern and fit for purpose buildings that meet the needs of modern day education. Schools need to be able to provide the best possible learning experience, to make sure that children and young people have the best opportunities available to them and that they are able to reach their full potential.
The council has come up with 10 new policies which will be used as a starting point for the Modernising Education framework. These policies are still only draft and we want your views. Closed 12 January, 2009.

We have reviewed the area and decided that alley gates could help. Denbighshire County Council’s Priorities

If we are to make real change we need to do fewer things, but do them well.  Councils which have a sustained focus on what matters are more likely to improve than those which set priorities and then are not able to stay on track through the typical ups and downs of change.  Prioritisation is the way in which councils decide where to focus their scarce resources, including management time and effort. The ‘day job’ of meeting the council’s statutory duties continues, but a council’s priorities point towards the key areas that the council wants to change. Consultation ended on September 15, 2008.

Recycling Survey
With the end of the current recycling contract in sight and new targets being set by the National Assembly, we have the opportunity to change the way recycling is provided.
The Council recognises that recycling services will need to be provided to all residents. Although there are costs to providing extra collections, the cost of NOT recycling (e.g. the spiralling cost of waste disposal and penalties for exceeding landfill limits) will soon be even greater.
