Dee Valley Tour
Dee Valley Tour

The widely acclaimed 2005 economic review by ‘Parkin Heritage and Tourism’ of the Dee Valley highlighted the need for an integrated branding, marketing & interpretation campaign to enhance the visitor experience and put the Dee Valley firmly on the map.

The ‘Dee Valley Tour’ campaign has been developed by the design specialists Blah d Blah, in conjunction with the Dee Valley business groups, Denbighshire County Council, with support from the Welsh Assembly Government and Cadwyn Clwyd.  The branding is based on the famous Rose Window at Valle Crucis Abbey and was the preferred choice during market testing with visitors in June of last year.  The eleven ‘Dee Valley Tour’ Interpretation panels have been installed throughout the Dee Valley at key sites including the Horseshoe Pass, Rhug Estate and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.  Each interpretation board is unique with three things to do at each location, and then a suggested two places to go next.  They have been developed to create a sense of identity for the area and to encourage people to visit more places in the area and hence stay longer, benefiting the local businesses.  The ‘Dee Valley Tour’ is the first project to be implemented form the Parkin Study.
