What the Building Control Service provides
The Building Control Service provides:-
- Guidance and advice on Building Regulations and associated technical requirements relating to proposals, both at application stage and during building work.
- Guidance and advice on the provision of access and facilities for disabled people in new development.
- Close liaison with the Development Control section to provide a development team approach.
- Processing of Building Regulations Applications from receipt, including plan checking and consultation with other bodies.
- Determination of applications and issuing of decisions in accordance with the Building Regulations.
- Carrying out of site inspections and checking works in progress for compliance.
- Provision of completion certificates on satisfactory completion of work.
