Road Safety

Denbighshire County Council work closely with North Wales Police in an effort to reduce accidents across the 1400km of roads within the county.

All reportable accidents are logged and investigated to ascertain the cause and identify any trends. Wherevever possible, engineering solutions are then put in place to reduce the risk of any future accidents.

Additionally several initiatives are in place within Denbighshire to increase the awareness of drivers, motorcyclists and pedestrians and promote road safety.

Some of these initiatives are promoted in collaboration with other North Wales Authorities, and others form part of National campaigns.

Pass Plus Cymru

The training focuses on driving,

  • in town
  • on rural roads
  • in all weathers
  • on dual carriageways and motorways
  • in the dark

Free Assesment for Over 55's

Men and women aged 55 and over can have a FREE driving assesment conducted by the Wales Mobility and Driving Assesment Service.

Arrive Alive

 

A North wales partnership launched in 2001. Its aim is to make the roads of North Wales safer by encouraging people to stay within the speed limits, reducing collisions and consequently reducing the number of people killed or injured.

 

Bikesafe

 

Denbighshire County Council actively supports Bikesafe, an initiative run by police forces around the UK who work with the whole of the biking world to lower the number of motorcycle casualities.
