Can I work for the Council if I don't speak Welsh?
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.  As an organisation, we need to be able to reflect all sections of the community. For those non-Welsh speakers recruited, there is an opportunity to learn Welsh through the provision of free courses at varying levels.

Can my application form be submited after the closing date?
Normally application forms will be accepted up to 8.00 a.m. the day after the closing date to allow time for applications posted to arrive.  However,  if you are struggling to return a form to us on time, you should ring the contact number given on the advertisement and ask for advice.

Can I submit a C.V. in place of an application form?
Unfortunately, no.  This to give everyone the same chance to apply and submit the information required to enable us to compile a fair shortlist.

Can I submit a C.V. to be held on file by you for future vacancies?
No, unfortunately the Council does not accept speculative CV's.  All job vacancies require an application form to be submitted at the time the job is advertised, thus giving everyone the same chance to apply.

Can I include extra documents with my application pack? 
Yes, you can include extra documents in support of your application, as long as they are attached securely to the form. 

Do you acknowledge receipt of application forms?
No, because of the large number of forms that are submitted, we do not acknowledge receipt of forms to keep costs down.  We do, however write to everyone after an appointment to inform them that they have not been sucessful on this occassion.

If I haven't heard anything from you, how do I find out the progress of my application?
We try to process applications and appoint within 4 weeks after the closing date, however this is not always possible for a number of reasons.  If you are concerned about your application you should ring the contact number on the job advertisement that you have applied for.

How do I obtain feedback from my interview?
To obtain feedback you need to contact the interviewer.  If you are not sure who to contact, ring the contact number on the job advertisement and they will put you through to the appropriate person.
