School Closures

School Closures

Whilst every effort is made for schools to open to pupils for the statutory 190 days, in certain circumstances such as bad weather, fire or flood, etc. closure may be necessary.

Unison Strike 16th/17th July 2008

Due to proposed industrial action by Unison Members, on both Wednesday 16th July and Thursday 17th July, some schools have been forced to take the decision to close to pupils. As many Unison members provide services to schools, such as catering, cleaning and caretaking, decisions have been based on Health & Safety grounds with regard to pupil safety.

Please follow the link below to up-to-date information regarding schools which will be closed if the strike goes ahead as planned.

School Closures

Information is being updated continuously as schools inform the Authority of their status during the strike.  Please contact the Headteacher of the school direct if you have any queries.  Contact details can be found on the 'find a school' link.
