VEHICLE CROSSINGS OVER FOOTWAYS AND VERGES

If you are considering constructing a new vehicle crossing over a footway or highway verge, or altering an existing one, you are advised to contact Denbighshire County Council at an early stage to discuss you requirements and get advice.
You can either send an e-mail by clicking on the link, or you can telephone our Highway Development Control Team on 01824 706889.

Whilst there is no problem with the majority of applications there are a few where there may be problems such as the proximity to a junction, poor visibility or where street lighting or road signs (including hydrant markers) may need to be moved, which although possible, may involve a significant additional cost.

Denbighshire County Council charge an administration fee to cover the costs of processing the application and site visits. Please refer to the 'schedule of charges' page.

All works within the public highway must be carried out by contractors holding the relevant  accreditation for highway works, together with £5million public liability insurance.
All applicants or their contractors are responsible for ascertaining what services or statutory undertakers cables or pipes are located within the footway or verge prior to any excavation.
