Council responds to Post Office decision to extend consultation period by one week

Denbighshire County Council has responded to information that the Post Office has decided to extend the consultation period on closures in North Wales by one week. The consultation period will run from 29 July to 15 September.

The news comes after the Council passed a motion on 8 April calling on the Post Office to delay the consultation until after the summer, in order to allow community councils and other interested parties to respond to the proposals.

Ian Miller, the chief executive, said 'We will draw the new timetable to the attention of town and community councils across Denbighshire. We will also report the Post Office's decision to the Council meeting on 20 May, at which county councillors will be able to give a political response to this modest extension to the consultation period.'
