Libraries in Denbighshire have launched a new campaign to encourage babies and toddlers to become library members.
Every child aged 0-3 who joins the library for the first time will be given a Bookstart teddy bear as a free gift.
Libraries love babies and toddlers, and young children will be given a great welcome. The library offers the best choice of wonderful books and they can be borrowed for free. Most libraries have special story and rhymetimes for young children, and library staff can offer help with choosing books and DVDs.
By joining the library, children will develop early learning and social skills – and it’s a warm and friendly place for families to visit together. There’s free internet and books for grown-ups too, and you’re welcome to breastfeed in a library.
Babies and toddlers can be lively and noisy at times – but that doesn’t matter in libraries any more. Children won’t be charged for damaged books or bringing books back late either.
