06/16/2008 - Double century celebrations for Homeswapper

More than 200 tenants living in Denbighshire have now registered for the Homeswapper scheme.
Homeswapper is a web based mutual exchange service which automatically searches for potential moves for Council and Housing Association tenants.  Homeswapper will send registered applicants alerts of potential swaps by e-mail weekly or to a mobile phone by text message fortnightly.
The first mutual exchange using Homeswapper was completed in March.  The swap allowed a move involving two tenants in Denbigh.
Currently 224 tenants within Denbighshire are registered for Homeswapper.  Of these, Denbighshire County Council has 122 registered tenants and Housing Associations have the remaining 102 (Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd, Pennaf and Wales & West Housing Association).
Homeswapper is an excellent way for tenants wanting to find a move to an alternative home.
Further information can be found on the website - www.homeswapper.co.uk.  The website has recently been updated and includes a wide range of frequently asked questions.   A short form needs to be completed on-line in order to register.
Properties must not be exchanged without written permission of all landlords, as rights to the current and previous property could be lost.
Denbighshire County Council tenants can get more information by contacting Housing Services on (01824) 712947 or email: housing@denbighshire.gov.uk.  Housing Association tenants need to contact their landlord directly.
