06/20/2008 - Victorian Music in Gaol

Come along to Ruthin Gaol on Saturday 28th June to experience music of a bygone era.
Musician and historian, Richard York, will be performing the sort of music and songs that you would have heard around the Gaol corridors in Victorian times.
He will bring instruments of the day – some of which you will be able to handle – and tell you why people played the music that they did.
He will also discuss working conditions, refer to street language, and look at the differences between low traders and toffs.
The Victorian music day is free with payment of the normal Gaol admission price. Adults £3.50, concessions £2.50, families £10, and 10% discount for pre-booked groups.
