06/24/2008 - Rhyl & Prestatyn - winning destinations


A website promoting Rhyl and Prestatyn as top tourist destinations has been awarded an industry accolade.

The website: www.rhyl-prestatyn.co.uk has been awarded a third prize by the British Resorts and  Destinations Association in a survey of websites.

The judging was made up of 6 key elements: creativity, visual appeal, general layout, clarity and simplicity aids, tools and help resources, interface functionality/ease of use. The judges said that "the website demonstrated a good use of colours, it was a bright, family orientated design with simple navigation."

Visitors to the site can access a range of information on attractions, activities, eating out, what’s on, shopping, nightlife, accommodation, travel and parking and resort maps.

Businesses are featured on the website free of charge when they buy into the Rhyl and Prestatyn marketing area's annual brochure. Any graded accommodation or visitor attraction wanting to participate in the 2009 brochure and website should contact Peter McDermott at Denbighshire County Council's Marketing & Tourism Department,  on 01824 708244 by the end of July 2008.
