Youngsters from Denbighshire schools will be showcasing their musical talents at two high profile performances this summer.

The Denbighshire County Wind Band was set up in January 2008 with over 40 members from schools across the county. The ensemble's first ever performance will be held during the Arts in Schools Festival being hosted at the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre on Tuesday, July 8.

The other performance features the Little Stars Band, a junior brass band with over 35 individuals from schools in the Ruthin area. They will perform at the youth evening during the Ruthin Festival, on Monday, June 30th. The band, which meets weekly at Theatr John Ambrose, Ruthin will also perform at the Arts in Schools Festival.

The ensembles are organised by the Williams Mathias Music Service in partnership with Denbighshire County Council's Arts in Schools department.
