06/25/2008 - Chart topping band return to Rhyl

A blackpool-based boy band will be returning to Rhyl as part of the town’s Fun in the Sun Event on August Bank Holiday weekend.

Billiam entertained the crowds at last year's event and this week  smashed into the national Top 40 this week with their new single My Generation.

After the recent success of their tour supporting Girls Aloud in May and June, the four band members – Jazz, Jordan, Zen and George – found themselves talking to The Radio 1 Chart Show last Sunday (June 22) when they announced that Billiam had crashed into the chart at number 23.

This was the highest new entry into the charts for a new boy band for several years.

Other acts performing at the event which takes place at Rhyl Events Arena on Sunday and Monday, August 24 and 25 include: Same Difference (X Factor), Natasha Hamilton (former Atomic Kitten), Hoop la la (Britain’s Got Talent) and Wig Wam Glam (70s tribute band).

Further details can be obtained from the Denbighshire Events Unit on 01824 712704 or 712705.
