07/07/2008 - Clock ticking on LDP consultation

Time is running out for people to have their say on Denbighshire County Council’s draft Local Development Plan (LDP).

This is the first formal consultation draft of the LDP and following consideration of the comments received a second consultation draft will be published next year. The LDP will not be formally approved until 2011.  The existing Unitary Development Plan will remain the adopted plan for Denbighshire until the LDP if formally approved.

The LDP must provide an adequate supply of development land to meet the County’s needs – including guiding where new housing, employment, recreation and community facilities are likely to be built in the county until 2021. The LDP will be used to decide what developments are granted planning permission.

People can access information on the Denbighshire website: www.denbighshire.gov.uk/ldp or visit their local library, One Stop Shop or council offices to view copies.   A video to complement the consultation is also available for viewing, on www.denbighshire.gov.uk/ldpvideo

The deadline for submitting written comments to the document is Friday, 1 August at 5pm. Responses should be sent to: Local Development Plan Consultation, Denbighshire County Council, Trem Clwyd, Ruthin, LL15 1QA, by fax: 01824 708039 or by e-mail: ldp@denbighshire.gov.uk
