It's party time again for the Language and Play scheme in Denbighshire as it continues to celebrate its 5th birthday.

The second and final celebration event is being held at Eirianfa, Factory Place, Denbigh on Saturday, July 12 between 1.30pm and 3pm and those that have attended the scheme are invited to come and join in the celebrations.

The Language and Play team runs sessions across the county and provide an opportunity for parents and children to spend 90 minutes of quality time each week learning through play.

The team is part of Denbighshire's Lifelong Learning Foundation Phase team and gives parents an insight into the way young children will be learning in the new foundation phase.

The team also works closely with health visitors to provide home visits for families who are not yet ready to attend groups.

Five thousand parents and their children have attended sessions since the scheme was set up five years ago and 50 early years workers have been trained to deliver the programme.
