Denbighshire has launched a new version of the planning application form, now known as the 1APP form, (National Standard Planning application form) which is designed to standardise the form and make it easier for professionals and individuals submit a planning application.
The form is being phased in across the UK in time for October 2008 when it will become the only official method of making an application for most types of consent except for minerals consent and building control applications.
Denbighshire is the joint third Local Authority to bring the new form in and it is available both electronically and in paper format. This new form is expected to help with online planning applications and the process will be less confusing for people, particularly if submitting applications to different authorities.
Councillor Eryl Williams, Cabinet Lead Member for Environment and Sustainable Development, said: “These standardised new forms will make the process of submitting planning applications much more straightforward and I’m sure will be welcomed by professionals and individuals who wish to make an application.”
The forms can be found at www.planningportal.gov.uk or through Denbighshire’s Public Access Portal on the planning pages at www.denbighshire.gov.uk
