Corporate Governance

Corporate Governance is the system by we (the Council) direct and control our functions and relate to our communities.

At Denbighshire County Council, we must be able to show that we are keeping to the underlying principles of good governance, which are:

Openness: in our dealings and communicate and engage with all sections of the community to encourage active participation
Integrity: in our dealings in building effective relationships and partnerships with other public agencies and the private and voluntary sectors
Accountability: to all interested parties (or 'stakeholders') for our performance and our effectiveness in the delivery of services and the sustainable use of resources.

The Council must also monitor and review its systems and process to make sure they are effective and up to date.

The Council has a Code of Corporate Governance to show its commitment to these principles and sets out how the Council will meet this commitment. The Code of Corporate Governance is available for download below.
