Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September

Canal Pump House
Time: open 2pm to 4pm.
Booking: booking not required.
Access: parking at Llantysilio Green.
British Waterways will explain the history and workings of the pump house which controls the flow of water at the Horseshoe Falls into the canal. Free parking at Llantysilio Green.

Plas Newydd Talks
Time: 11am and 2pm. Talk last approx one hour.
Booking: pre-booking required.
Access: accessible to ground floor.
Talks on the gardens, the carvings, the history of the Ladies of Llangollen and Plas Newydd since the time of the Ladies. Casual visitors will be charged an entry fee.

Tŷ’n Dŵr Hall tours
Time: 11am and 2pm.
Booking: pre-booking required.
Access: stairs to view upper levels.
Tours of the hall which is now used by the University of Central Lancashire as an outdoor centre. Meet at the main entrance.

Tours of St Collen's Church
Time: 12 noon Saturday, 2.30pm on Sunday - tour takes approx 30 mins.
Booking: booking not required.
Access: fully accessible.
Frank Jones will conduct tours of the church which is the oldest established institution in Llangollen.

Community Hall Conversion Tours
Time: 11am and 11.45am Saturday, 2pm and 2.45pm Sunday. Tour last approx 15 mins.
Booking: booking not required.
Access: accessible to ground floor.
Tours of the community hall which was once a Victorian school, with architect’s drawings. The community hall is located next to St Collen’s Church.

History of the Llangollen Eisteddfod
Time: 1pm Saturday and Sunday. Talk last approx 40 minutes.
Booking: pre-booking required.
Access: fully accessible.
A talk about the history of the Eisteddfod with pictures and stories. Meet at main reception, Royal International Pavilion. Ample free parking is available. Sunday - Amulet Antiques Fair, £1 entry fee. The talk is free of charge.

Llangollen Steam Railway Engineering Works
Time: 11am and 2pm both days.
Booking: pre-booking required.
Access: fully accessible.
Since the reopening of the Llangollen Railway in 1975 the organisation has built up a fully functioning Engineering Workshop. Meet at works entrance on Abbey Road adjacent to St. John’s Church.

Valle Crucis Abbey Guided Tours
Time: 10am-5pm. Tour times advertised on the day.
Access: steep steps to upper areas of the abbey.
Costumed guided tours by the custodian of Valle Crucis. Tour times will be advertised at the Abbey on the day.

The Archaeology of Llangollen
Time:
10.30am and 1.30pm. Tour takes approx 2 hours.
Booking: pre-booking required.
Access: accessible – this is street tour.
A walk through Llangollen with Fiona Gale, County Archaeologist, exploring Llangollen’s history through its buildings. Meet outside the Tourist Information Centre, Y Capel.

The Restoration of Listed Buildings
Time:
4pm, talk will last one hour.
Booking: booking not required.
Access: a lift is available.
A talk by D Parry Jones, MRICS at Llangollen Town Hall.

Sunday 18 September only

Wildlife Walk
Time:
10.30am, walk takes approx 2 hours.
Booking: pre-booking required.
Access: good walking shoes required.
A walk with Rhun Jones, Denbighshire’s Senior Countryside Warden, taking in Dinas Brân and the Dee Valley. Meet outside the Tourist Information Centre, Y Capel.

A History Tour of Llangollen "Sarah Ponsonby & Friends”
Time:
2.30pm, tour takes approx 90 mins.
Booking: booking not required.
Access: accessible – this is street tour.
Meet at Town Hall, Castle Street.
