Around 200 households in the Waen and Rhuallt areas near St Asaph have been posted the first in a series of newsletters to keep them informed of the council’s plans for the former abattoir.

In February 2009, the council purchased the site on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) using funds aimed at assisting councils develop food waste recycling. The newsletter goes into greater detail about the reasons for the purchase of the site.
