Abandoned Vehicles
If you suspect a vehicle has been abandoned, please contact Customer Services.
If you suspect that a vehicle is illegally, obstructively or dangerously parked, then North Wales Police should be contacted on 0845 607 1002.
Untaxed Vehicles
Denbighshire County Council has received devolved powers from the DVLA so that we can now instantly lift cars parked on the highway which do not have a current road tax disc (we will lift cars where the tax disc is out of date by one month or greater). The reason we are using these powers is that quite often these cars have been abandoned, are also statistically more likely to be involved in other crimes, and are unlikely to have valid insurance.
Please call our customer service team to report any abandoned / untaxed vehicles on 01824 706 101.
Denbighshire County Council act as agents for the DVLA in removing untaxed vehicles from the highway. Once a vehicle has been removed neither Denbighshire County Council, or our contractors have authority to release vehicles.
If your vehicle has been removed, please contact the DVLA on 01792 765152.
Trading of Vehicles on the Highway
It is an offence under the Highways Act 1980 to advertise vehicles for sale on public highways. If you suspect 2 or more vehicles are being advertised for sale by the same person or business and are 500m apart and are parked on a public highway please contact Customer Services.
Fly-Tipping
Fly-tipping is the illegal deposit of any waste dumped onto any land or highway not licensed to accept waste. It includes household and garden waste, bulky items such as fridges and sofas and trade or industrial waste, like building rubble and hazardous chemicals.
Denbighshire County Council provides a bulky item collection service for householders, at a cost of £4 per item. Also, a trade waste collection service is provided for shops, restaurants, hotels, etc. For advice or further information, contact Customer Services.
Please report any incident of fly-tipping to Customer Services. Provide the location, quantity and type of waste. If you actually witnessed the fly-tipping, then give the date and time and description of the fly-tippers, e.g. vehicle registration, make, colour, etc.
