Denbighshire’s procurement team offers guidance, information, advice and support to all service areas during the procurement process. We work to obtain best value from the contracts we enter into and to minimise the administration costs of buying.
Our team aims to ensure that all procurement activity complies with the council’s contract procedure rules and regional, national and European law. (European Procurement Directives). We control and monitor all corporate contracts for the procurement of goods, works and services. We currently spend in excess of £132 million on all contracts.
Our aim is to seek efficient and effective procurement and socially responsible procurement.
Efficient and effective procurement –
• Controls, standards and management of risk
• Staff training and development
• Collaborative procurement
• Electronic procurement
• Procurement management information
• Efficiency and value for money
• Performance management
• Information and communication
Socially responsible procurement –
• Regeneration
• Sustainability and environmental management
• Equality and diversity
• Fairtrade
• Ethical procurement
For us to be able to achieve these goals, we are working on developing new and innovative ways in which to procure goods, works and services and to work in partnership with suppliers to drive down costs and increase service quality.
