In November 2009 the Council was awarded the Wales Charter for Member Support and Development by the Welsh Local Government Association.  In order to achieve Charter status Councillors had to be supported with role descriptions and the Council took the opportunity to develop an Elected Member Role Description and Elected Member Person specification.
