Landing at a library near you this summer!
Every summer, parents face a familiar problem: how do you keep the kids busy during the long summer holiday without breaking the bank?
Here’s the answer: the national Summer Reading Challenge in libraries. And this year’s cosmic theme – Space Hop – is out of this world! Space Hop will take your child’s imagination to the Moon – and back! Whether they’re already hooked on books, or just beginning to read, it’s a sure-fire way to get kids into reading.
Sign up at your local library – it’s free! – and your children will receive a special poster to keep track of their challenge. There are all kinds of other Space Hop goodies too (including stickers) to keep them interested along the way.
The Summer Reading Challenge is great fun for everyone, but it also gives kids a real sense of achievement. Research shows children who take part get a head start in the classroom when they go back to school.
