Denbighshire Library Service’s Bookstart team held a special rhymetime event at the Events Arena on Rhyl seafront to celebrate National Bookstart Day 2010 and families from across Denbighshire came along to enjoy rhymes, songs and stories at the seaside.

The Bookstart Bear made a special appearance before going onto the beach to build a sandcastle!

Councillor Meirick Davies, Chairman of Denbighshire County Council and the Mayor of Rhyl, Councillor Margaret McCarroll came along to join in the fun with the children.

There are regular Bookstart rhymetimes for babies and toddlers in Rhyl, Denbigh and Prestatyn libraries - there's always a warm welcome and plenty of things to do.
