Prestatyn’s Young Ambassadors have used their creative skills to make a monthly ‘Prestatyn High School Sports report’ video which has had hundreds of views on Youtube in the first week.
The video gives pupils, parents and the community an update into the latest and upcoming sports news in Prestatyn, showcasing the work of the PE department, 5x60 programme, and Young Ambassadors.
The video features the school's achievements in the county, interviews with students and coaches, a round up of inter-school competition results and tables and events linking the community and school together via sport. There is also information on clubs such as the new Disability Sports Club that has seen the pupils of Prestatyn High try out and enjoy different Paralympic and Disability sports. This month even included the Russian national Rugby team that visited Prestatyn High School.
Michael ‘Ron Burgundy’ Kitchen, Mat Lord, Delyth Morgan, and Hannah Addison present the sports report in a comical and informative manner. With the Young Ambassadors editing the video together and adding in times of the 5x60 sport sessions on a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to give the report a feel of a ‘sky sports news’ report with an anchorman slant.
Jamie Groves, Head of Communication, Marketing and Leisure, said: “This shows that Denbighshire is on the right track in empowering our youngsters to take control, lead, promote and make decisions locally on projects they are involved with. The Young Ambassador scheme is now vital to our sport development team and I'm glad Denbighshire is leading the way in this scheme across Wales.”
