Rhyl Golf club has received a community chest grant for £1206 for new equipment and training for a new project where they will visit primary schools to offer free Tri-golf sessions and hope to recruit more junior members to their golf academy.
Junior sessions at Rhyl Golf club are on Sundays:
11am-12.00 midday for under 12’s
12.15-1.15 for 12-18 year olds
To play, just turn up or contact Anthony Middleton on 07887705845 to book your place at the academy for just £10 for 5 weeks worth of sessions. There may also be opportunities for volunteers 14 years old and above to be trained up to become tri golf leaders, so contact Matt Hilliker on 07798742290 if you are interested.
At the Community Chest panel meeting on the 28th January the following clubs were also awarded a grant in support of coach education and equipment costs:

In the past year the Denbighshire Community Chest Grant has supported 60 local
sports clubs, by awarding approximately £85,000 to enable clubs to train up more coaches and volunteers, purchase additional equipment to help establish new teams and to encourage more people to become more active more often.
