The trade waste collection service is not covered by business rates so there is a charge for collection and disposal. You have the option of using the service we provide or you can make your own arrangements with a private licensed waste management contractor. You cannot use the domestic service for disposal of trade waste and access to the Recycling Parks for the disposal of trade waste is not permitted.
How can I arrange collection?
You will need to contact our customer service centre on 01824 706000 to arrange a collection service. You will also need the correct waste container/label (listed below) and a signed contract.
Cardboard collection service labels
Sheets of 14 cardboard collection service labels can be purchased from the One Stop Shops for £25.00 each.
Brown Sacks for trade waste
Trade waste sacks can be purchased for £2.16 from the One Stop Shops. The price includes collection and disposal, and the minimum order is 10 sacks. Multiples of 100 sacks are available at the reduced cost of £206.00. If you would like them delivered, the minimum purchase is 100 sacks. You will be asked to complete and sign a Waste Transfer Note each time you purchase trade sacks.
Trade recycling sacks
Trade recycling sacks can be purchased from One Stop Shops at £10.60 for 10 sacks, or you can buy one roll of 52 for £53 including delivery. Information on what goes in these sacks can be found in our leaflet.
We can offer a wheelie bin service to businesses. You will need to contact our customer service centre on 01824 706101 to arrange a wheelie bin service. We can offer landfill and recycling wheelie bins based on the following amounts;

The rates set out above will remain in force until 1st April 2018 and may be varied by a minimum of one month's notice thereafter.

Traders who breach their duty of care in their handling of waste may commit an offence under Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, for which the maximum penalty is £5,000 at a magistrates court, or an unlimited fine upon conviction at a crown court. You are required, by law, to produce copies of your current Duty of Care Waste Transfer notes, when asked by an authorised officer to prove that you are disposing of your waste in a responsible manner.
