Virtual workshops for exploring a career in childcare

Virtual workshops for exploring a career in childcare

Through our Exploring a Career in Childcare workshops, we can help you plan your next steps in business, employment or training. This free, virtual event provides information on training, funding and access to working in childcare. Guest speakers will include various members of Cwlwm partners and educational providers.

The free workshops will also provide information on:

  • how to start a business as a childminder
  • various roles available within the sector
  • qualifications needed to work within the childcare sector
  • funding and support available
  • how to develop your existing skills and experience
  • identifying your skills for employment within the sector
  • thinking about your next steps in employment or training

Guest speakers will provide information on training, funding and next steps. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions throughout the workshop.

Dates, times and sign-up

We are running two, identical workshops that last for two hours. You can pick a morning or afternoon session:

  • Tuesday morning - 18 October, 9:30am to 11:30am
  • Tuesday afternoon - 18 October, 12:30pm to 2:30pm

This online workshop will be delivered through Microsoft Teams (external website).

Exploring Enterprise in-person workshops

Through our Exploring Enterprise workshops, we can help you plan your next steps in business, employment or training. The workshops are free, with no obligation to sign up for anything else and they will support you to think about:

  • what it takes to start a business
  • developing your existing skills and experience into an idea for a business
  • exploring if you could use an interest or hobby as a base for a business
  • learning to capture your skills and experience to improve your job prospects
  • identifying your skills for employment
  • thinking about your next steps in employment or training
  • finding your best work / life balance

You'll be able to listen to guest speakers talk about their journey and how they got to where they are today.

Dates, times and sign-up

The October 2022 workshop is split into two sessions that are one week apart, each lasting two hours. We are running the same workshop in the afternoon and again in the evening. You can pick one of the following:

  • Thursday afternoon on 20 and 27 October, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
  • Thursday evening on 20 and 27 October, 5:30pm to 7.30pm
