The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022

On 2 June 2022, Her Majesty the Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, and to mark this historic 70 year reign as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth, a number of celebrations are taking place as part of a year-long programme of events.

An announcement has already been made to extend the bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022 to provide opportunities for communities throughout the UK to come together to celebrate this historic milestone.

The UK Government want celebrations to be bigger and better than previous national celebrations, and want as many people from across the nation to participate at any point from now until December 2022.

The Queen's Green Canopy

The Queen's Green Canopy is a unique, UK-wide, tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, by inviting people to Plant a Tree for the Jubilee.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Beacons

In keeping with the tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, thousands of beacons will be lit by communities, charities and different groups throughout the regions of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories.

Denbighshire County Council will be lighting an official beacon at the Events Arena in Rhyl, together with additional lighting and flame effects.

Buildings along the promenade will also be lit in red, white and blue to mark the occasion.
