Get paid to generate your own energy

Feed In Tariffs are an incentive to generate your own renewable electricity. if you install a renewable electricity system such as solar panels or a small wind turbine, you could get paid per kilowatt hour of energy you generate. This scheme is open to all property owners, including residents, landlords and businesses.

The Renewable Heat Incentive is a similar scheme, which covers heating. If you install renewable heat systems such as solar panels or a biomass boiler, you could get paid for the amount of heat your systems produce.

Help with fuel poverty

Nest is the Welsh Government’s fuel poverty scheme which aims to help people in Wales reduce the impact of their fuel bills. Nest offers a range of advice, as well as a full home energy assessment and home improvements for the most energy inefficient homes – at no cost to you.

The Energy Saving Trust provides free, impartial advice on how you can save money by becoming more energy efficient. They can also tell you about any grants you could get to improve your home’s energy efficiency.

Resource Efficient Wales is the Welsh Government service providing people (domestic, business, community, voluntary and the public sector) with a single point of contact for support on using resources (energy, materials and water) more efficiently.
