What if I can't get Superfast Broadband yet?

We are aware that a number of properties within Denbighshire will be unable to get access to Superfast Broadband as part of the Welsh Government's Superfast Cymru project.

Access Broadband Cymru scheme

We encourage residents in Denbighshire who are unable to access Superfast Broadband to apply for the Welsh Government's Access Broadband Cymru scheme. If you are not yet able to receive Superfast Broadband then you may be able to get connected. We would urge residents to apply for this funding as soon as possible.

The scheme provides grants to fund (or part-fund) the installation costs of new broadband connections for homes and businesses in Wales. It does not include monthly rental costs.

New connections through this scheme must deliver a step change in speed - with at least double your current download speeds e.g. a current connection of 10Mbps must improve to at least 20Mbps.

The amount of funding you can receive depends on the speed of the new connection:

  • £400 for 10Mbps and above;
  • £800 for 30Mbps and above

Applying for the grant

Advice and guidance on applying for the Access Broadband Cymru scheme can be found on the Welsh Government Superfast Broadband website.

Community support

We want to support Denbighshire communities in working together to find solutions for those areas that are unable to get access to Superfast Broadband.

We are willing to facilitate meetings with communities interested in working together to improve their broadband, but would need local 'champions' who are willing and able to coordinate the work required to implement a community solution.

If you are interested (or know of anyone who would be willing to take this role) please contact us on 01824 706000 or e-mail us at customerservice@denbighshire.gov.uk.

More information about UK Community-led Broadband schemes, including examples of previous schemes can be found on the GOV.UK website.
