Across Wales, local authorities are making spending decisions about key community services such as public buses, toilets, community and day centres, libraries and lifelong learning.
Older people consistently highlight the importance of these services with the Older People's Commissioner for Wales, and they raise concerns about the impact that the loss or reduction of these services is having, or will have, on their lives.
Many older people feel that they do not know how to engage with their council and influence the decisions that affect their lives. They often feel powerless when councils propose to reduce or bring to an end these essential services.
In order to help address this issue, the Commissioner has developed a toolkit. The toolkit gives information and advice on how you can make your voice heard, how you can challenge decisions, and what support is available to help you do this.
