The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years. 

With GDPR coming into effect in early 2018 it is essential that businesses of all sizes understand what will be required of them to stay on the right side of the laws. 

This session will cover an overview of GDPR including looking at the challenges for existing and future IT systems along with the steps every organisation should be looking at now to make sure that they are ready for next year:

Session1 - Introduction to GDPR and overview of its business impacts.  In this workshop we discuss the coming legislation, legal basis for holding personal data.

Coffee Break

Session2 - In depth look at collection methods for personal data including website user tracking and consent.

Session3 - Introduction to Cyber Security and Data Protection Requirements in the new regulation. – This session talks about the must do elements of cyber security and how they fit with GDPR to help demonstrate compliance with the new laws.

Although the entire workshop is interactive and discussions are carried out throughout, there is also time at the end for Q&A as well as for people to have personal discussions with the workshop providers regarding their particular business needs and concerns.
