We have a range of online resources available to help you with your homework or research. You can use all of these at your local library, and you can also use some of them from home. Some websites will ask you to log in with your membership number – this is the number on your library card.

The Access to Research service is a new initiative to give free, walk-in access to a wide range of academic articles and research in public libraries across the UK. Subjects include art, architecture, business, engineering, history, languages, politics, philosophy, mathematics and the sciences. You can use this service free in any Denbighshire library.

A general knowledge encyclopaedia, containing articles and information on geography, science, medicine, biography, literature, astronomy, philosophy, art, religion, law and more.
The leading dictionary of the English language. As well as finding definitions of words, you can also learn about the history and origin of words here.
Oxford English Dictionary
A comprehensive online resource containing dictionaries and reference material on subjects including history, languages, medicine, literature, art, architecture, food and drink, politics, social science and more.
The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography contains over 58,000 biographies of anyone who was anyone in British history, from the Romans to the 21st century. Meticulously researched biographies of people from all walks of life - not just the great and the good - let you explore historical events through the lives of the people involved.

Find My Past
When children ask 'Who can I read next?' or 'Who writes like my favourite author?' the answers are here on 'Who Next?' Writers of children's fiction are listed with suggestions of other authors who write in a similar way, together with key book and series titles.
If you are a member of the library, you can download e-magazines for free. You can download e-magazines via the internet, but to read them offline you will need to download the Zinio app to your PC or device. Find out more about e-magazines
Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory test. It contains the official practice test question bank, hazard perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code. All this material is licensed from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the people who set the tests. Access to Theory Test Pro is completely free for residents who call in to any library in Denbighshire. Members of Denbighshire Libraries can also access Theory Test Pro from outside the libraries using their library card number.
How to sign up for Theory Test Pro
When you first use Theory Test Pro, you will need to register with your name, email address and password. There is no charge for this. This information allows Theory Test Pro to save your test scores so you can follow your progress as you practise for the test.
If you sign up from home or anywhere else outside of the library, you will also need a valid library card number. If you’re not already a member of the library you can join here.
