Online reference library

We have a range of online resources available to help you with your homework or research. You can use all of these at your local library, and you can also use some of them from home. Some websites will ask you to log in with your membership number – this is the number on your library card.

Access to Research

The Access to Research service is a new initiative to give free, walk-in access to a wide range of academic articles and research in public libraries across the UK. Subjects include art, architecture, business, engineering, history, languages, politics, philosophy, mathematics and the sciences. You can use this service free in any Denbighshire library.

Who Next?

When children ask 'Who can I read next?' or 'Who writes like my favourite author?' the answers are here on 'Who Next?'  Writers of children's fiction are listed with suggestions of other authors who write in a similar way, together with key book and series titles.

E-zines
If you are a member of the library, you can download e-magazines for free.  You can download e-magazines via the internet, but to read them offline you will need to download the Zinio app to your PC or device.

As a Denbighshire library member, you can get free remote access to all the National Library's electronic resources provided through Shibboleth, as long as you live in Wales and have a Welsh postcode.  Apply for a reader's ticket here.

Theory Test Pro

Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory test. It contains the official practice test question bank, hazard perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code. All this material is licensed from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the people who set the tests. Access to Theory Test Pro is completely free for residents who call in to any library in Denbighshire. Members of Denbighshire Libraries can also access Theory Test Pro from outside the libraries using their library card number.

How to sign up for Theory Test Pro

When you first use Theory Test Pro, you will need to register with your name, email address and password. There is no charge for this. This information allows Theory Test Pro to save your test scores so you can follow your progress as you practise for the test.

If you sign up from home or anywhere else outside of the library, you will also need a valid library card number. If you’re not already a member of the library you can join here.
